CRACK FILL

 One of the most important decisions you will make is protecting your asphalt. When maintaining your asphalt it is very important to prevent vegetation.  Vegetation, if left unattended,  can cause considerable damage to your asphalt.  As the roots continue to increase in size, the asphalt surface can be pushed up and moisture is allowed to access the subbase through the crack.  This will cause expansion and contraction of the asphalt surface leading ultimately to pot holes or even complete breakdown of the surface. 

Compact air:

Compact air is a way to use high pressure air to clean out all debris and vegetation within the crack.  Hot rubber crack fill is applied to seal the crack and create a water tight seal. Thus this helps protect the asphalt, and subbase, from being exposed to freezing and thawing cycles.  

Rutting:

Rutting begins using a rutting machine with a wire wheel on it to dig deep within the crack to remove all debris and vegetation.  This process allows the crack fill to penetrate the crack deeper creating a much better bond to the asphalt.  This process will give the asphalt repair more longevity and water tight seal.
